Touring for all musicians ended when live events stopped in March of 2020. Covid-19 and the worldwide pandemic kept all music venues closed and musicians working out of their homes. But starting in June 2021, live music will find its way back to venues across the country. Gerard Zappa Cincinnati will be touring with the Steve Augeri Band this summer.

Steve Augeri was the lead singer of Journey from 1998–2006 and now fronts his own band. Gerard Zappa plays bass guitar and provides vocals in the Steve Augeri Band.

People are excited and relieved that live concerts and performances are returning after a difficult year with the pandemic. Musicians are over the moon to be back out on the road performing to live audiences, including the members of the Steve Augeri Band. They have booked venues from Oregon on the U.S. West Coast to the heartland of North Dakota and Missouri to various venues across New York State.

The band will be rocking out from June onwards as more people receive vaccinations and are able to come to live shows. As the world starts to reopen its doors, musicians from all types of music are slowly beginning to book live shows. Bookings are running into 2022 too, as many of the shows cancelled for the past year get rescheduled.

The pandemic hit not only the musicians, but the thousands of support people that work in and around the venues, from sound engineers, road crew staff, to security guards at venues and the bars where live music happens. The pandemic canceled not only live shows, but music festivals and award shows. Many albums were delayed as well as musicians had to work out of their own homes and studios instead of together in traditional recording scenarios.

It’s estimated live performances accounts for about 50 percent of global music’s total revenue. Worldwide, the global music industry accounts for about $50 billion dollars.

Craig Pullman, Adam Holland, and Gerard Zappa formed a melodic rock band in 1986 called “Valentine” and were signed by RCA, Columbia and Giant Records, while also gaining a publishing deal with Warner Chapel. They had three albums and had songs on the movie soundtrack for “Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead.” The third album was released in 2009 called “Soul Salvation.”

These three musicians currently tour as part of the Steve Augeri band performing around the world prior to the pandemic and beginning again now as 2021 opens up and allows.
